tire blowout
my made in china tires exploded on last trip, how can i fix damage to wheel well caused by steel belt. cheaply that is, my insurance company says $1035. damage, ist $1000. on me though

- Save the tire and contact the manufacturer, they will want the tire. I have had carlisle and goodyear pay for the damage to my trailer and a new tire.
- My 5er is in the shop for damage repair due to a china bomb tread cap separation. AAA is covering it under comprehensive with a $100 deductible. Couldn't rationalize doing it myself for that cost. Comprehensive claims usually don't influence your premium. The right rear skirt was destroyed and that alone would cost much more that the deductible.
- Way back when I was an insurance adjuster, you would have had 3 different claims and three different deductibles. You can have a deductible for either collision or comprehensive losses.
- Are you absolutely sure your deductible is $1000? This is a comprehensive coverage claim not a collision claim.

Not even an insurance issue by your description of damage. If that is all it needs, spray undercoater to be bure any cracks are sealed.
Mine was much more substantial but I did not call the insurance company. I had an old dually mudflap tha I cut then glued & screwed over the damaged area. Much tougher than slide underside material. dlowr31733 wrote:

Sounds like you are paying the 1000 deductable anyway, so why not let them just fix it all? Or are they treating it as separate claims? Not sure I am reading this right, but why would you even call insurance company if the undercoating was the only damage. I don't have any spray undercoating on my trailer, but if that will do it, its cheap at the auto parts store.
