Broken Hitch No Help From GS Roadside

"ERS" = Emergency Roadside Assistance. Since both vehicles were driveable, they did exactly what they should have done; which was nothing.

I did not expect a tow as both units were still drivable. What I expected was roadside assistance. I had a towing related incident. I had hoped for some help.

When I called to signup the sales person told me of the millions of situations that I would need them for and the like number of ways they would help. Not just emergency towing.

Did I expect too much?

I've never had a bit of luck with GS ERS. After a flat tire in April where the person from GS ERS was completely clueless, I got Progressive Roadside. Hopefully I'll never have to find out how good or bad they are.

Sounds like you got what was to be expected. Call a local dealer for the BRAND of hitch and you'll be more apt to find assistance. Many brands like Reece have a lifetime guarantee on their equipment and I've actually had them air freight parts to me in care of local RV dealer. Good luck / Skip

A dinghy is NOT a trailer but a towable VEHICLE. Based on the OP's information, which is sketchy at best, no roadside service would have done anything differently. I believe he was in a strange place and looking for a repair facility referral. Roadside service is for emergency road service not a referral service. RVServicereview.com may have been a better choice for the OP given the information he's provided...Dennis

So unless the op was towing a car behind his pickup he couldn't just drive the disabled "dinghy" away.

Flat tire, breakdown, unable to tow because of broken part, disabled on side of the road = tow
