We have had Good Sam Roadside service since 2008. We received a letter stating that the Roadside Service was being cancelled due to excessive use.Has anyone had this happen? We had a tow on the RV after an engine fire in January. First tow in 2 years? And this is excessive.I have to call tomorrow as we are paid until November 2015 to see if there is a refund.Thanks to all of you for the many years of forum advice.Jane and Lee

I used them once to tow my truck, worked fine. I'd talk to them and tell them at the least they owe you service until November because that's how long they accepted your money for.How far was your tow for the engine fire?Bill

Sounds to me there is something wrong here. This doesn't seem like excessive use. Let us know the outcome.

Probably the best thing that happed to you. Take your refund and get Coach net.When I had a horse trailer with living quarters GS wouldn't sell me ERS. Of coarse it didn't stop the trash mail coming telling me to get their ERS. I loved the days when we could send the trash mail back postage free.

The first long trip with our MH we went from AR to MT and back. We used GSERS twice going out and 3 times coming back and we are still members, that is until June when our policy lapses. We changed to Coach Net because each time we had to wait for 4 hours to get a tow, and we felt that was just unreasonable.That being said, I would talk to GSERS and see how 1 tow in 2 years is too excessive. I think someone made a mistake and cancelled you in error.

Thank you all very much for responding to my post. Good Sam Club Representative called this morning (0630) and asked if I posted on RV.net(above post)? He was not too happy and had wrong information about my account. He as being a Representative for Good Sam and would not give my call to a Supervisor. Basically #1 I received one letter that stated I could not renew my membership this year. Good Sam rep is telling me they have sent 2 letters #2 If I did call Good Sam Road Assistance before November 2015, It was called "Pay was you go" and I had to pay up front, basically Good Sam made the contact only. #3 They have 2-Roadside assist tows for this year-which is NOT true, but why argue with stupidity.Good Sam Representative was rude and basically nasty. He is not a good 'people person' to represent a company. I asked him how much money I get back seeing that is not the Roadside plan I want, and he said I would have to call tomorrow (Saturday) for details. Thanks for all your comments and support. Sure 2 or 3 times could just be bad luck and should probably not be considered excessive. 6 times seems a bit more telling and may be indicative of deeper rooted problems such as slipshod pre-rolling checks, failure to accomplish even rudimentary preventative maintenance or jury rigged fixes that are never actually corrected.

Overuse and cancellation has been a part of roadside assistance since I started driving and that is back in the 60s.

these companies like to make money, not spend it. They want profit,profit,profit. If you cause there margin to fall, you will disappear somehow. Insurance Companies do it every day, raise rates to get you to go elsewhere. Then 2 months later send you tons of letters begging for you to come back!
Same as direct TV and Dish. I had Direct Tv in the house, they didn't have internet capability so when Brighthouse came in my area I went with them after 10 years....Direct TV still sends me mail begging for my return,which is not gonna happen ever!

Dismaying to hear this. We have really appreciated their help in past years, both with wheel hub problems on a previous camper (leading to our being stuck in a few places) and with tire changing on our car. If we're going to be limited to one or at most 2 service calls a year, this is much more restricted than previous. Rockhillmanor, you may have hit the nail on the head.

Sounds to me that, from the horses mouth, like they are now only going to offer 1 maybe 2 ERS calls per membership and then BAM your cancelled. Things must be getting tight with affinity again. Just saying.

I, too, feel uncomfortable with the OP not clarifying this stuff.

But I also thought the post on the previous page from the rep was pretty rude. The one on this page seems neutral to me. Certainly nobody at GS is going out of their way to be extra polite, here, unlike in other threads. Makes me wonder what we do not know.

Unless a spare tire they changed fell off, the ERS contract does not make repairs. So I am confused about what repairs should they have done right the first time.
