110v to TV and DVD keeps blowing the breaker

I have a 2000 Fleetwood Southwind 32v. The tv and dvd used to work up front and now I go to use it and it keeps tripping the breaker. Anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening? Thanks
  • Sounds like the relay that prevents watching TV when the coach is moving failed. Easiest course is to just remove the relay rather than replacing it unless you want to keep the coach 100% complete. Be sure to disconnect both the chassis and coach batteries (Not sure which powers the relay) along with 120VAC when working on it.
  • The breaker trips for a reason. You ave something shorting or bad somewhere in the line. Could be a number of things. Try the plugs without the TV and plug something else in and see if it works.
  • I put a new breaker in and didn't fix it. I pulled the 2 outlets out and no wires are touching. Could it have anything to do with when the key is on the tv shuts off. Can that go bad
  • If you know how you need to lift the wire off the breaker. If it will not reset swap the breaker out with a new one. If it will reset you need to inspect the outlets on that circuit first for a short until you clear it. If it is in the romex/cable it will be difficult, but not impossible, to isolate. You just have to break the circuit at each outlet until the trip clears.
  • see if you can determine what other plugs are on that breaker. When the breaker is off check plugs with a lamp or some corded tool. that might show you it is some other device that is bad. if not it sounds like a wire has rubbed through to ground or a screw might be into the line shorting it. good luck
  • Sorry, I forgot to say that they are both unplugged and still blows immediately.
  • Unplug the TV/DVD and reset the breaker. If that clears the trip you have a bad TV. Is it a tube (crt)?
