30 AMP Quit? Source or not?

Maybe I'm not understanding the problem but if all power came back on, is there another problem other than locating the inverter? AND it is an inverter your looking for and not a converter,,, right? One reason I'm asking is because your propane heat does not work from 120 volt power, it is strictly 12 volt (in my experience).

I don't know if anyone mentioned but if you're still looking for the Automatic Transfer Switch; you should be able to follow the power cable from the park pedestal and it should terminate inside the ATS. Sorry if I missed some other answers to these questions.

rv4jimnme.... you never mentioned what kind and year of motorhome that you have. That might help us help you locate the inverter.

Do you have an inverter?

This could be a problem with your transfer switch contacts. One of the contacts is not passing voltage through from both hot legs of the 50 amp service. The same thing happens with 30 amp service just that the total usable amperage is less.
I would guess that you either have a failed broken transfer switch or a broken wire connecting ti to your main panel. Also you do not want to overlook the possibility that your main 50 amp circuit breaker is bad. this would be in your main circuit breaker box. You might try resetting it.

Hey there Thanks for your UH HUH moment The batteries are doing ok according to the voltage indicator? I will keep learning and BTW I usually print these threads so thanks again to all who contribute. Just cannot resist this morning adding a little "good old days" to this. What happened to simple? I used to love to go lite my little propane heater on my Toyota at least I could find it? ha when the grey water was full you knew because the shower would not drain. And if you wanted to read at nite you knew you were using up your battery so start the engine and recharge it, water pump out? no problem just lift up the dinette and unscrew it and replace it. So that's how old I am! lol Now I am online two computers running, gas heat for now and doing a load of laundry but Iam clueless for the most part....

Blunt or Snarkey no problem! Going to show this to the man of the house evidently his volt meter only goes to 10 amps? Yes finally turned frig to LP, did reset all breakers I could find. Will try the shore CB thing, thankfully we are leaving for 50 amps soon! Your right manuals and service but the Manuals I have are lacking a lot of details namely geographically where anything is. This morning could not get propane heater to work or to blow really after shutting off shore CB and back on it took off...hum...Thanks!

The propane furnace needs a good 12Volt supply to run. too Low DC voltage and it won't start.
When you turned the CB breaker off and on you may have reset a partially tripped breaker. Turning it on then allowed the converter/charger to charge your batteries and to supply a good 12.6V volts (or probably much higher..13 or more hopefully) so the furnace would run.

Hopefully the reset of the shore power breaker solved your problem and hopefully your batteries weren't discharged too deeply or for too long to recover. Keep us posted.
