Checking in at RV parks Venting
In the last couple of weeks, I've had problems with people that don't have a clue when checking in at RV parks
The other day, part of the check included an extra $10 for key deposit for the laundry room. I gave the lady a $10 bill......trouble is.......she didn't have a clue on how to enter it in the computer. I stood there while she tried to figure it out......another lady was over seeing her, obviously she was new. The trouble is, they kept playing around with the computer and made me wait. They should have just given me the key and then worried about the input on the computer. I must have literally stood there for 15 minutes before they finally figured it out....and then handed me the key. Whatever happened to customer service.
Today, I checked in, everything was prepaid....at least I thought. They informed me it would be an extra $7 for my dog, a dollar a day....no problem. This park uses tokens for the laundry room. I asked for $3.00 worth, so the total was $10, Here we go again......couldn't enter both items in the computer. Stood there while they played around with the computer. Why not just give me my change for the $20 I gave them. Nope, they have to keep doing the same thing over and over again.....with no luck. After about 10 minutes, finally, they enter the items separately, and finally give me my change, which she had in her hand the whole time. Funny part is, I was given $11 instead of just $10. Yes, I gave them back the extra $1.00. Again, why did I have to stand there, while they try to figure out the computer. This seems to be an ongoing problem, not only at RV parks, but at retail shops too. Why don't people wake up and take care of the customer first, then worry about the computer input after the customer is taken care of. I know we live in a computer world....that's not my complaint, my complaint is, when the person running the computer, makes the customer wait while they try to figure things out, especially when it's simple transaction and they can try to figure out the computer after taking care of the customer......it's basically rude. Ok, enough venting LOL.
