That AAV (air admittance valve) is probably for the gray tank. - 420RVfunExplorerSo I see a small air inlet under the sink. Is this enough, so that I could remove the vent stack. I will be removing or sealing off the black water tank.
- rbpruExplorer IIMy Grandfather would agree with you. In 1929 he built a home with a toilet. bathtub and sink that all the antiquers love today. My grandma and the kids loved it.
Still in the 1960's he was still using the outhouse behind the chicken coup. Some habits die hard.
Personally, when I get up in the night, I like the bath at the end of the TT.
Fortunately for you, I do not think resale value on a 1980's TT is much of a problem. Besides it is your TT you can set it up however you want. - 420RVfunExplorerCool, I think one of the biggest challenges when doing this kind of stuff is figuring out the vocabulary so others know what is being talked about.
- 420RVfunExplorerThank you. They are connected together
- beemerphile1ExplorerAny and every tank has to be vented. For water to go in, air has to be able to go out. For water to drain out, air must be able to go in.
FWIW, it is not an exhaust vent, it is a vent stack. - hohenwald48ExplorerThe gray water tank requires a vent.
I have no idea if your gray tank has it's own vent or if it vents thru the same stack as the black tank. - 420RVfunExplorerAbsolutely, or using our river Groover or using the campground restrooms. I believe the downfall of civilization began when we moved our toilet inside the house. But does anyone have an answer as to if I need to keep the exhaust vent if I only have a gray water tank?
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIISo you and the bears are going to be pooping in the woods :H
- 420RVfunExplorerok, so i'll probably keep the black water tank. One of the roof leaks is at the exhaust vent. thinking it will be easier to remove and seal over vs. sealing around the vent. Do i need to have the vent working(hooked up) if i only have a gray water tank? thinking i could cut off pipes at floor so they are there if i ever sell this camper. BTW this is a 1988 17ft camper that i am fixing up to be a hard sided tent, more or less. No one will be living in it. Camping but with hard sides for bear country and a little more protection from the elements.
