I think all of us to a certain extent have become lax to the RV industry. After all, these are luxury items for most, maybe a necessity for others. But this has made us settle and accept what they give us. I think this is one reason why the RV industry is so different in so many ways than other industries especially the auto industry. I know there are way more cars and trucks on the road than RV's, but still, that doesn't make it right.
Isn't funny how Americans are great consumers known for boycotting products and services, calling their local news channel hotline to resolve issues, posting on social networks like Facebook, but when it comes to our rvs, for some unknown reason, we let the industry get away with it. People try to stave off complaints by saying a motorhome is a complicated piece of machinery. I have a 24ft TT, we love the layout, couldn't be happier so far. It has its issues but in terms of construction, it's a piece of &^%#! Americans are famous for suing each other. Not sure why we don't go after the industry with personal or class action suits.
Just like the auto industry, no change will take place until foreign competition is allowed. I found a British motorhome manufacturer who crash tests their products. Let the Brits, Japanese and Chinese in and prices will come down and quality will go up.
Yep, that's the answer. Then the RVs will be just as high of quality as the tools at Harbor Freight and decent American made product with ANY support after the sale will be a thing of the past along with the jobs for the folks building them. Yea, that worked out well for the auto industry, the electronics industry and the tools industry.... - 93mastercraftExplorer II

There should have been rollers from the start. Here is the link to the you tube factory installation video. It will show that the load should be on the rollers NOT on the rack and pinion. Its interesting that the video states no welding....and the shaft shown in an earlier should not be able to slide in and out like the video shows. Having watched the video and seen installations during factory tours I would think the problem lies not with the system but rather the coach manufacturers installation practices.
Video??
I think he's talking about the Schwintek videos. If u go to Youtube and search for Schwintek u will find them. However, I never seen no video with the Schwintek installation on a slide out as large as what's on these Palazzos. - 2bzy2cExplorer II

Mastercraft,
I was considering the Palazzo myself but heard about the slide problems. I called Thor and spoke to the SE regional sales manager who assured me that the 2014 models were corrected.
He told me that they fixed the problems by using steel shafts and adding rollers under the slide.
Are you telling us that you have the steel shafts and rollers and you still had this problem? If so, I will avoid Palazzo until the problem is corrected once and for all.
What the THOR Factory repair rep is holding came off my Sept. built 2014 Palazzo 33.2. Rollers on the bottom...Steel shaft with one he!! of an ugly weld. By the way.. the new ones went back in with the same ugly weld. They not going to be able to fix this thing. LOL Rollers under the slide out too. LOL this things couldn't move if it didn't have rollers underneath the slide out. Far as I know they've always had the rollers. Check out the motor on the ground. only two of them move this huge slide. LOL - holstein13ExplorerMastercraft,

Well, Well…let me just put my 2 cents in here…or maybe 100 cents….I have had major problems in the past regarding warrantee work. The approach I use may not work for all but is to allow the dealer / manufacturer to correct the issue. if they do not then I will bring the issue to light in a public forum. I am currently going through a similar issue and if I do not get satisfactory results I will be posting.
Side Note, I visited a CW recently before following this thread and asked the sales person if the industry had corrected the problems with the full wall slide and was told they had. (I was looking at a Thor product and was the first time I had seen this track motor configuration). This and other forums are very helpful but you must sift through a lot of stuff and use good judgment for your own personal use.
r0n........:B - Mike_HohnsteinExplorerFleetwood replaced the road side wall on my 90 Southwind 36' in 93 @ Decator IN. Took them 7 months while I made the payment. I will say the coach was perfect when they finished it and I promptly sold it for good money. Debonding issues.
