Proud to supply the above manufacturers - 93mastercraftExplorer IINo you didn't highjack this tread at all. There are a ton of other RV owners out there with this exact same problem that just simply don't use the internet or know about these forums. I think we all need to band together and start a class action lawsuit!
- yycallegroExplorerYou are not an idiot, I am an idiot for buying a 2012 Tiffin allegro 35QBA with the same schwintek slide system. What a piece of garbage. I have two slides with this system and both have had problems from day one as well. I've had the dealer "fix" the problem 4 times but the kitchen slide still doesn't work unless I override it manually and the larger bunk slide has my heart going when I operate it as it may or may not work. The bunk slide tends to go out of sync slightly when operating, which is why I worry. Those videos put out by schwintek are a hoot, "manually push the slide", you've got to be kidding. The slides weigh a ton on my unit...
Anyway, sorry to hijack your thread but I am with you that schwintek system is not built for heavy slides no matter what anyone says. - 93mastercraftExplorer II

I HAVE read the entire thread ! and didn't want to imply my problem was yours only that slides can have problems for many reasons and give some perspective and hope yours can be fixed Yes the slide system in yours may be the problem. It sounds like they are fixing the problem from a prior post it seems You've already made up your mind to attack them ... You might have reason but I'd give them a chance before you make any further assumptions or ? Sorry to irritate you further :-/ good luck
Jorbill2or,
Thanks for the reply. As you can tell I am very frustrated at this point. I know it's a day before thanksgiving and no one wants to hear from me about my problem, Camping World, Thor or anyone else. I sent a very polite e-mail to Thor requesting they send me a response back yesterday to how they intend on fixing these problems. I have not seen or heard one word. Should I call them, yes. I am actually giving them the benefit of the doubt. - jorbill2orExplorer III HAVE read the entire thread ! and didn't want to imply my problem was yours only that slides can have problems for many reasons and give some perspective and hope yours can be fixed Yes the slide system in yours may be the problem. I'll bet good money the coach cut out isn't the problem but the slide mechanism wasn't adjusted to take the slide in/out equally front to back top to bottom. I also owned a Thor product a Everest 5er and a shear pin broke causing the front to stop moving and the slide to twist .. I saw it and stopped the slide before damage was done and straightened the wall and replaced the pin with one that was stronger .. No more problems. Hopefully yours will be as simple. I'll keep my fingers crossed ! Good luck
Please read the entire thread... The issue is with the Lippert Schwintek system. Well, that is one of the biggest problems. The motors are too small. The components are too weak and they are prone to failure. There is a small 12v dc motor on both ends in the wall. The motor is smaller than the palm of an average adult hand. To prevent front to back mis-alignment, they use motor synchronization controllers.

After you watch the video... Then go back to the beginning of this thread and see my photos and tell me if this operated the way it was supposed to, less than 3 weeks old. Approximately 15 slide outs... - 93mastercraftExplorer II

while camping at Fort Wilderness in Aug someone was having problems with their slides on a brand new Palazzo. Thor flew a tech in from their plant that fixed it on the spot and told them to call again when they get home. They were told to take it back to the dealer and the tech would fly in to show the dealer how to fix it permanently.
I've also heard of many others with the slide out issues over on irv2. That does not surprise me. - jorbill2orExplorer III'll bet good money the coach cut out isn't the problem but the slide mechanism wasn't adjusted to take the slide in/out equally front to back top to bottom.
