- The_TexanExplorerHave been with Verizon since before they were Verizon. Customer service has always been top notch.
- mgirardoExplorerI've had Verizon cell service for years. The last two smartphones I bought were through Amazon Wireless and had no issues activating with the help of Verizon customer service. Of the few large companies I've dealt with for phone service (Landline or Cell - AT&T, Comcast, Tracfone & Verizon), Verizon is by far the best. Most of the times I've called (which was maybe half a dozen times), I've spoken to someone with excellent customer service that speaks very well.
As far as cell service goes, you definitely get what you pay for.
-Michael - stevekkExplorerI was curious about Millenicom.
So I went to the website.
Cheapest plan I could find was $70 for unlimited.
So what am I missing? - j-dExplorer IIProblem with comparing Verizon with others is we can get trapped in comparing Plans without remembering Coverage. I retired from those guys, well the landline side. I think they do a pretty good job on problem issues, but they have this "business model" they want all their dealings to fall within. Stay within and it's all joy. All the big outfits (which probably means ANY wireless provider) are that way. They really want our business. They just want it their way. We have a Vz cell (old "legacy" phone) and a 4G MiFi w/5gB limits that we've never come close to. We hit 50% in one month while fulltiming. It provides warnings at 50% then twice again. 75 and 90 if I recall but that's only what I was told and I've never seen those notices. If we went over, we'd bump the next 1gB for $10 and I can live with that. It's what we paid for 3G service we never maxed out anyway. But I agree that I wouldn't want to pay $150 to get from 5gB to 20gB. Not once, let alone routinely.
- EycomExplorerI've used Verizon cell and air card/MiFi internet service for years with virtually no complaints regarding customer service. However, my internet usage has exceeded my 5G plan on occasion and I'm thinking of going with Millenicom in the next few months. There appears to be a happy consensus among subscribers of Millenicom's ability to offer a bigger bang for the buck on the Verizon network. $19.99 more per month for 4 times the Gigabytes is a no brainer, if... the service is the same. With no required contract, it behooves me to give it a shot.
- McZippieExplorerVerizon's customer service rep told me that I could update my unlimited data 3G aircard to an unlimited data 4G aircard. After receiving our bill noticed that the new 4G aircard had a 5 gig data limit.
Called Verizon and was informed they don't offer unlimited data with 4G air cards.
Requested that they reinstate my unlimited data 3G plan. They refused, stating they no longer offer any 3G plans.
I called and talk to many different supervisors and wrote letters and emailed without results.
We've been Verizon customers since the 1990's and I'm not one to complain or act unprofessional, but felt I was mislead and taken advantage by Verizon's over zealousness to eliminate unlimited data plans.
I've had the air card since they were first offered many years ago. Paid the $60 monthly fee, even though it wasn't used for many months during the year, but when used, can hit up to 20 gigs for a few months per year. For those few months of heavy use, is why I wanted to preserve the unlimited data plan. - stevekkExplorerI have MiFi w/ Verizon.
50 bucks a month.
Been real happy with them.
Everything seems to work OK, so I don't need to call them very often. - HandbasketExplorerMy only phone (cell) and aircard are thru Verizon, for about 10 years. No problems worth mentioning, and the rare calls I've had to make to customer / tech service have gotten very good responses. Almost no dropped calls, and I've had data service in some out-of-the-way spots. Contract is up next month, and I'll renew with them, no question.
I'm adding a land-line internet connection at home; have a choice between ATT & Charter. I feel great dread at getting involved with either after great no-hassles experience with Verizon.
Jim, "If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem." - hotbyteExplorerAlso have used them for cell service for many years. I've used the verizonwireless.com website and it is kind of kludgy and often slow...but it worked to do things I needed to do.
Have never really had to deal with the customer service much. The one time that stands out was with investigating texting plan options when daughter moved off to college. In our hometown, 99% of folks use Verizon since they are about only game in town. So, all of her texting was verizon-to-verizon. Off at college, she was texting several carriers. Verizon customer service rep spent time to look at our usage, discuss options and ended up in long run saving me a few bucks per month. So, I was happy with the outcome and service. - mockturtleExplorer III had Verizon for years and found their customer service very good. It was the cost of their service and multiple 'fees' that drove me away. I now have Straight Talk with Verizon coverage.
