- 93mastercraftExplorerCamping world and Thor are working with us. All I have is good things to say about them at this point. By Jan 15 we are supposed to get another unit in that has just been manufactured. The las time thought they were sending a new one was a mistake and miscommunication between Thor and camping world.

While I generally sympathize with the OP in this story, there is one thing that bothers me and I'd like to speak out.
The OP approached a finance company and asked them to give him a loan. He did not ask the finance company their opinion or let them know that if he was not happy with some future outcome, he would not pay them back. No, he asked them to give him money in order for him to purchase a motorhome. The OP did not have to have this loan. He could have walked away from this and not purchased the MH.
I'll assume that the OP signed a purchase contract, signed an application and promised to pay back the finance company the entirety of the money loaned plus interest. The finance company surely reviewed the OP's credit rating, analyzed his ability to repay and assessed the value of the collateral before making this loan.
Now, the OP has regrets about his purchase. Specifically, he regrets that he chose a Thor Palazzo MH. He regrets this because the slides do not work and appear to him to be a serious engineering flaw. He doubts they can can be fixed to his satisfaction. And so the OP wants to renege on his promise to repay the loan.
Several people have commented that the OP should continue to make the loan payments but no one has flat out said that it is unethical and unfair to the finance company to stop paying them as he agreed to. Maybe Thor should have built a better MH. Maybe CW should stand 100% behind the products they build. Maybe the OP should have done more research before buying this product when he already had suspicions about the product.
But the finance company? What did they do wrong? Looks to me as if their only mistake as A) loaning money to a person who would go back on his promise to pay or B) Loaning money on a Thor Palazzo.
At the end of the day, everyone needs to do the right thing here and that includes the OP who should fulfill his promise to repay this loan he agreed to.
This is not about a loan, Ability to pay back or anything like that.. This is about a lemon. I felt it necessary to bring this to their attention. In fact they wanted all the documentation. We will not default. With that Said read my next post, - mike_brezExplorer

IMHO...all this is simply speculation and it's really quite boring...the OP has a "deal" in the works and will know the outcome on the 15th of January. Any further speculation, suggestions and/or commentary on this issue is a waste of bandwidth. The OP, again IMO, could hinder any successful outcome by continuing to reply to this thread. Sometimes silence is golden.....just sayin...Dennis
If you want to see a waste of bandwidth go to "around the campfire" - et2Explorer

IMHO this is the reason for their postings. They feel it's actually helping their cause by bad PR. There are a few suggestions in the following order.
1) Get a lawyer and quit posting .... NOW. Forget about the 15th.
2) Keep taking it in until fixed.
3) Sell it as is or after repair as they will never be happy
Not paying the loan isn't a option as mentioned above. It's not the banks problem. - Executive45Explorer IIIIMHO...all this is simply speculation and it's really quite boring...the OP has a "deal" in the works and will know the outcome on the 15th of January. - RayChezExplorerNow as to the OP and his problem with the Thor coach. I am sure Thor will correct any adjustments that have to be made to the slide, and the other repairs that have to be made. I would not publicize your problems in this forum because it is just human nature that some will make it look bigger then what it is. Then you will have some pushing what they own as the BEST. So give Thor and CW a chance to make it good and if they don't, you have a good case to fight it in court.
As I have posted before the industry needs better QC. I have been to many RV shows lately and I am very disappointed with the product they are pushing out and that is all companies. Even the most respected companies like Newmar are not putting out quality work anymore. I walked through a DutchStar and could not believe the quality of work done on the cabinets, and the discoloration of the woods used. So it is not only Thor, it is the whole industry that has to step up and produce a better product coming out of the factory and not shoving out to the dealer to do the major or minor repairs. - RayChezExplorer

Remember the Alfa was the #1 selling DP About 10 years ago. It was the biggest POC on the road. # 1 seller does not translate to #1 quality.

LOL! Man, some of you guys are terrible. I have talked to many Alfa owners and they are real happy with their purchase of their Alfa. I just can not figure why somebody like you is always bashing other brand coaches. You think what you own is the best and everybody else coach is a POS. You are not right! - holstein13ExplorerWhile I generally sympathize with the OP in this story, there is one thing that bothers me and I'd like to speak out.

whoever buys it should be able to see that it has been repaired, and should be able to buy it for a whole lot less than new. If it is repaired correctly, it can be a good coach for someone else.
Key words here are... "A whole lot less than new". That's right. I bought a brand new one and paid the price. I expect it to be like new only with some minor warranty work. Not major problems. You hit the nail on the head. Funny how someone else will get it at a steal and probably with an extended warranty and I still cannot get that. - 93mastercraftExplorer

I am sad that so many of you say 'trade' it or 'sell' it. You do know that you are causing another poor soul to go thru a nightmare. I don't know what the answer is to solve these problems but it just seems so cruel to pass a problem of this magnitude on to another buyer. Why would you do this to a fellow RVer, especially one that might be new to this great lifestyle. I wish there was another way.
Don't think you need to be blaming the owners. You can start with the manufacturer's and then the dealers. I too myself have wondered how many of those used late model motor homes that have less than 3 to 5K miles on them that have had and still have major problems. You will never get an honest answer from a dealer when you ask them why it was traded in or for sale.
I've heard them all, oh they wanted a smaller one. They wanted a bigger RV. The husband or wife died. I never heard "they didn't like it".
