Terrible flooding in southern Alberta. Calgary Herald this AM report closures of the Trans Canada Highway (#1) west from Calgary - closed at Highway 40. Banff travellers wanting to go to Calgary are having to use the Iceway Parkway (93) north t, then east to #2 and back south. All calgary downtown area is closed. Downtown is closed on Monday etc. Travelers going that way had better check local conditions.

A very significant bridge on Hgy 22 between Black Diamond and Turner Valley is GONE. It is going to take a while to install a temporary structure to open that highway.

The high water is moving eastward downstream.

The Bow River flows into the South Saskatchewan and is supposed to crest in Medicine Hat tonight.

The North Saskatchewan flows toward Edmonton which is on flood alert as the crest moves through.

The Red Deer River is also higher than usually and the Red Deer area is on flood alert too. The Red Deer River flows into the South Saskatchewan River near the Alberta/Saskatchewan border.

Eventually the North & South Saskatchewan Rivers join in central Saskatchewan.

You're a couple of days behind - the worst is over. Lots of road closures still, though - check 511.alberta.ca for complete information.
