Wondering if I am understanding the info on recreation.gov. Couldn't find any info on the COE website either.

Says the season date for the COE campgrounds (Old Federal, Bolding Mill, Duckett Mill, Sawnee, etc) ends on Sep 6, 2014??? Seems way to early to close?

Thanks for the info, guys. I guess it is what it is. A shame -- fall on Lake Lanier is beautiful. I'm moving on to Plan B.

You understand it right. The season ends, and the campgrounds close on September 06.

Many COE parks are shortening their season. It is not due to weather.

The COE is funded under the Department of Defense and they are feeling the massive budget cuts that have been imposed.

Not allowed to be political here, so I won't mention which president implemented these cuts.

Looks like what it says to me...I know some of the COE parks have changed up their dates due to budget, but I agree that it seems a bit early. Call them and ask. Perhaps a typo.
