National Grease Seals

Starting to get all my to-do list together for the first warm day to come. I am looking for National Grease seal # 472920, all I find are other brands cross references, like SKF and Rockwell..

I did find 1 place online at $ 21.99 each... I do not remember paying that much before..???

Grease seals (10-36):
TRP GS2250DL ID: 2.25" OD: 3.376" Width: 0.375"
Timken/National double lip seals: 412920 (Nitrile), 412920V (Fluro), 472920 (Nitrile, lacks inner metal rim).

Timken/National 412920 is cheaper. Difference in in the metal, 412920 on left, 472920 on right:

If you can find cheap surplus 412920V ones, they'll work too.

I just use the TRP GS2250DL, which is a double lip. You can get them inexpensively on eBay. There's seller there now who has them for $2 ea, plus $9 shipping, so $17 for 4. Or just search for "10-36" seal - there are lots.

Bearings should last for years. Seals should be replaced anytime the hub is off, anyway, so I don't worry too much about longevity.

Thanks Mike ,

I called Timken and found out that 472920 is not available anymore... The number you told me ( 412920 double lip) is the only one available.. I found them online at CARID ..
