Battery Maintenance

I'm refreshing my somewhat limited knowledge of battery maintenance and found this article to be quite helpful.

My Renogy solar charger is supposed to automatically do an equalizing charge every month. I think I'd rather do that on an annual basis with my Xantrex charger.

All that article is is some clowns opinion. Equalizing should be done monthly.

I also found a monthly stir to be excessive when I had flooded batts. But check your Renogy documentation. A good CC should allow you to customize all parameters involving charging voltage and routines. If you had AGM batts for example, you would need the equalizing function disabled. So most can do that.
