Hi Folks,

I went and looked at a ram 3500 with the rambox and I can see where I wont be able to use my current hitch as there is no room to pull the draw bar...

it also looks that I dont have clearance for the pin box to make a clear 90 without crunching the box rails.

Are any of you using the rambox with your 5th ? which hitch did you buy ?

the truck is a pretty awesome deal, Id hate to have to pass on it because I cant find a hitch solution... I also dont want to be 3k invested in a hitch either...

Looks like the additional costs for the hitch, among a few other bits don't justify the truck, I'd be better off waiting for the free diesel promo and simply buying brand spankin new...

Hi fellow Manitoban! I looked into this in the fall when I had to change trucks from a 2011 2500HD to something else. I found two Ram 2500's in Wpg and both had the Rambox which looked useful. I asked at a couple RV dealers and neither had experience mounting hitches, so I read and asked on forums. General consensus was to use a pivoting pinbox. We have a Titanium with the stout Atwood AB-72 which many figured would work with a Rambox. These are rare and of course a pivoting pinbox is not made for this style. In the end I decided to go with the normal box as I bought new and there were no 2015's available that met my option list. Good luck with your choice!

Looks like a Reese airborne sidewinder pinbox on the 5th ...need to find a hitch that fits..

I don't like the idea of changing the pinbox as I have a. Fiberglass or some such material shroud molded over my factory pinbox...

Maybe it's a sign...wait for another deal...

The fiberglas cover over the factory pin box is just held on with some screws, ez to remove. The Sidewinder is a very good choice. If you don't go that route, the cover would still need to be removed anyway as it makes contact with the truck bed sides even before the factory pin box hits. I don't think the cover does much good, more looks than aero benefit.

As for the hitch latch handle, on some hitches it can be shortened and/or re-drilled to change the angle so it clears the narrower bed width of the Rambox.

Another option would be the Andersen Ultimate, it won't give you the clearance of the Sidewinder, but no handle issues.

My utility bed is narrow like the Rambox, but with it's low height the back of the pin box swings over the top of the utility bed.
