I have been chasing a leak in my roof and it turns out Voltage had mounted the main central ac unit with one of the four lag bolts unable to tighten.
If you screw it up or down it quickly goes to the bottom but will not tighten up, looks like whatever it screws into has been overtightened and stripped out. Or, it has a nut below which just turns..the other three lag will tighten up good and allow you to pressure the foam membrane under the unit.
My question is, does anyone know what these four lag bolts go into under the roof? Are there wood blocks under the roof they screw in to?
This system is unlike most AC units that have a template underneath.
I can't see under the roof without stripping out a bunch of the air duct system, if it is a block of wood which is stripped out, I am thinking I can pour epoxy putty into it and let it set up, then drill it out and re-install the lag bolt.
Any ideas? I called Voltage but they just said take it to a dealer.
