Good Day, All:
I am in the process of re-wring the 12V side o fmy awesome 2007 WW LE3305 Toy Hauler. A few years back I installed a Xantrex 2000W inverter/charger, with 2-Optima Blue Top D34 batteries. I also redid all of the lighting, from incandescent to LED.
Adjacent to the 3 propane tanks in the front are 2, 12V distribution bars. In total there are 6 cables coming in/out of my batteries:
- POS/NEG for my generator (Onan Marquis Gold 5500)
- POS/NEG for the Inverter
- POS/NEG for the COACH
On the LEFT side (POS), I see 3, 30AMP fuses, labeled:
- 30A Charger
- 30A Charger
- 7-WAY
Obviously the 7-way is to provide DC power to my jacks, but do I need the 2, 30A for the charger, since my inverter/charger is charging the batteries from the inverter (well, via the inverter, to the 110V panel, then to the batteries). I have heard about the "loop" people experience, where they DO NOT disconnect the charger (i.e converter) when they switch to an inverter/charger. I have never seen a charger on here (it had a previously installed Xantrex inverter/charger, which I upgraded to a newer model). The batteries drain VERY quickly, even under light loads. Only three 110V outlets are connected to the inverter and at most we charge cell phones.
What I would like to do is install a marine bus terminal for both the POS and NEG terminals, which will screw on, vice the push-in style (with what seems to be 14 gauge wire) on there now.
Suggestions? I can re-post with pictures, but if anyone here has a 2006-2008 WW LE3305 or similar they will know what Im talking about.
