For those with no bathroom access during travel mode.

We would like bathroom access during travel mode, but are considering purchasing one without. Our last three all had access so would be very different. Have you regretted not having access to bathroom? Or has it been no big deal? Do you put your slide out when stopping at rest areas or gas stations, or on side of road? We are not just weekend campers going to nearby places. Travel a lot out west!

As I said before, if necessary, I can have a slide open before you could unlock the door to get in, via my remote. I =do= have to put the main street slide out about a foot to access the fridge, but it it were truly critical for having immediate access to cold stuff (some meds have to be cold), I'd simply carry a cooler in the truck. {shrug}

Yeah, mine is the same way: Schwintec in the bedroom and the other two are hydraulic.

Part of the problem with only opening the slides partway, is the Schwintec design, which expressly directs one to not open the slides partway as this can cause the motors to get out of sync, and cause things to cease operating. Just another issue.

Didn't know that. I have a Schwintec for my bedroom wardrobe, but the other 2 are rack and pinion drive.

My KZ came with a remote that I can carry in the cab and it controls all 3 slides. Never used it that way, but have talked to others with the LCI One Control on their phones, who have. They can have a slide out far enough to access kitchen/bath/bed before the passenger(s) can even get the door unlocked to get inside.

Veebyes, don't know if you have been looking lately, but there are lots of 5ers with no bathroom access. At least in the shorter size. We were very surprised. Don't know why they are making them that way, but people are buying them!

I have seen a few designs without bathroom and/or fridge access that are very creative and intriguing. That being said access is a must for us.

Access while traveling is important for us but that is not the only reason I like the convenience of access with slides in.

I like the access because when we arrive home after a long trip the laundry is started (dirty laundry lives in the bathroom) and the fridge is cleaned out by the time I get the fiver unhitched and truck cleaned out and ready for the work week. I then don't need to open slides or plug in the fiver if I don't want too. The rest of the cleanup can happen in a day or so after we are settled in again.

Don't think that I have ever seen a 5er with no bathroom access slides in.

Would never even consider such a model if one exists.
