High end vs mid level

Question all in the interest of trying to get the unit that best suits our all around needs Wife asked what I thought about a landmark I said hmm I know what it is and the price level it is in we are going to the rv show in Minneapolis in February so we hope to see it there. But what is the difference between the landmark and the riverstone models and other models in that level vs mid level units other then price? Is it just better quality sofa or bed or is it a completely different level of 5 th wheel? Thanks in advance for the answers.

It is not all about price. A true high end unit is better built frame, insulation, dual pane windows, better furniture, real wood cabinets etc. Some manufacturers add glitz and bling and call it high end, bbut on the same chaep frame and base construction.

Don't base your choice on an internet forum!..:(

Decide what YOU want, visit dealers, shows, etc.

Narrow *your* choices - based on what *you* want - as well as what *you* want to spend (or can afford).

BEFORE you purchase anything - make sure you have a tow vehicle that is "up to the job".

Once you reach "that point" - only then is it time to negotiate.

I know about the issues of the tri glide. I grease ALL 9 locations often. So far with 16k towing it is quiet and works well even with 23k hanging on it.

I ALSO had the Lippert " Tri-Glide" . . Mine started banging real bad, Lippert replaced it with a "Flex-Air" version. Much better product in my eyes..

I believe that Lippert has now realized that they had/have a bad product, as I have heard of MANY folks that had it changed out..

I love them both but I would be ditching that hitch on the drv. If that's the one with the slider plate on the bottom, my welds broke during transit. Had to have it fix at local weld shop. 2 of the 3 rollers on the plate

Yup, that DRV is a beautiful FW inside and out! I was considering one myself, but knew I'd have to add bags to my 250, and MAYBE lower the gearing too!:)

Same here!

For a high end unit IMHO considering price they are at the top of the heap.

You better have the proper truck to tow one of these monsters, 23K here.

KindaSorta get what ya pay for.

Do Not pay any attention to the price. Buy the unit that fits your family with the desired features your looking for. The reason I say this, is after 20 years and thousands of dollars it has become very clear the build quality in this industry is extremely lacking. Purchase what you want and look for the best factory WARRANTY, then go and enjoy!!!!!

Landmark offers a 2 0r 3 year full timer warranty. You may or may not get a 2 year warranty with a mid range. Like others have said the high end units offer much more than bling.

We have a DRV, with that we have disc brakes, MORryde IS suspension, MORryde pin box, 15" stacked box frame,17.5" H rated GY tires (made in USA) plus a bunch of "fluff" on the interior. Tank heaters, 100% LED lighting, residential fridge and power cord reel.

There's more, look at their website. We LOVE our trailer! That's not to say we haven't had issues with it. I believe ALL RVs have issues from time to time. I've heard nice things about Landmark, your money, your decision. :B
