I have a 93 Kountry Star DP with 2 original Dometic roof air units, both 13.5k The front one quit blowing cold air, so I'd like to replace it with a bigger 15k unit.
I can't find any information on what brand or model will work. It has ducted roof air and a LCD thermostat for each unit. It isn't a zoned system. Anyone have an insight on what to use??

I installed this Penguin II Low Profile Model last fall.

651916CXX1JO High Capacity (@15,000 btu)

It was the only model in their list that provided:

Single zone thermostat (I used the LCD, converting from Analog)
Heat Pump
Ducted Air

Look carefully at their many model offerings and match your needs to the model!

I just recently compared dcb readings on my old bedroom 13.5 Penguin and the new Salon unit. The decible levels were very similar.

Need more info. You state it has an LCD tstat. Your year, they did not have LCD tstats so we need to find out what type tstat it has been replaced with. It can either be a 4 or 5 button CCC tstat. 4 buttons discontinued in 2001 and 5 buttons used from 2001 till about 2012. THAT determines what type replacement you need to go with. Also, the roof top units, you will NEED the model number. If a 500 series, it will take a different replacement than a 600 series. 600 series are lo profile PENGUIN units. Also, the footprint in the roof cut out for return and exhaust air may have to be modified when installing a newer style Dometic unit. Doug

This link shows a 4 button. The 5 button looks identical except it has the 5th (Zone) button.

Go up top and take the cover off, all the info should be there.

Its just like every other roof air, it's just mounted from the top side (vs bolted through) and the output blows into the ducting.
There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.
