So finally found where the cylinder is located at, see pictures, I imagined it is going to be a bear to get it out - not sure if it comes out from under the guiding rail or how it will come out - does not seem very intuitive. any information regarding how to get it out is welcome. I am posting pictures from the inside of my Journey in hopes someone can enlighten me, also I am sure the system is under pressure, how do you take the pressure off - (to remove it). my process will be to extend the slide all the way out undo both of the NUTS at both ends and somehow.. magically it will come out somehow.

two questions:

1. how do I take the pressure off the system.
2. how do I remove the piston/rod not sure of the name: Towards the outside of the slide under the slide or somehow it comes out towards the inside of the motorhome compartment (not likely)

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. have tried for weeks now months to get someone (RV Mechanic) to even return my calls I guess no one wants to do this type of work so I need to do myself out of necessity. If someone can rate the effort (Easy , Medium Heavy )
