The Itasca Horizon and Meridian coaches (sister coach) are nicely made and outfitted coaches. Winnebago made the cabinets out of real wood. As long as the coach has been well cared for, it should serve you well.

Coffee Grinder,
Well, not the same year but, the same coach. Ours is an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the CAT C-7 330HP. We've owned it now for about 6+ years and, while I've done quite a bit of repair/issues corrections, I consider it a very nice coach. ANY coach is going to have issues. Some less, some more. While there are some that are not happy with Freightliner chassis's, I think they're just great. Ours has performed flawlessly.

I don't know if there was/has been any construction changes in the body side but, ours has held up real well in it's 13 years and, 81,000 miles. And that's pretty darn good considering many of those 81,000 miles have been on some of U.S.A.'s most terrible roads and freeways. Heck, after driving through Michigan, I'm surprised I still have a pair of windshields.

Back when ours was built, Winne and Itasca used HWH for it's leveling and slide operations. Hydraulics can have issues but, for the most part, ours has done well. I did have to rebuild a bedroom slide ram twice. The CAT C-7 is a great engine. We just finished a 6,500 mile trip and, it performed flawlessly and that was with pulling 6,700 lbs of GMC 1500 toad which was carrying an '08 Honda GL 1800 Goldwing. We averaged about 7.5 mpg. That coach doesn't move an inch without one of our toads.

If that '08 you're looking at, is anywhere near built the same as ours and, has been taken care of, I'd have zero issues with that purchase.

We have one and chassis wise has been fairly trouble free after the first year we owned. Now has 80k and runs like a top. House wise I don't think it's too bad compared to some others. We spend some money on something every year seems like. Last big expense was resealing the roof edges and replacing the old satellite system. Pm me if you need anything else.

Much of the answer will depend on how it has been maintained over the last decade.

If maintained, a reasonable choice. Be sure you check (or have checked) both house and chassis.

And IMO, if an early 2008 with engine meeting only 2007, not 2008 specs that would be a plus.
