Started to look into some water damage in the kitchen of our 83 Pace Arrow. The more I looked, the more I found. I have some pics of the damage so far. Anyone interested in following a rebuild thread?

Strapping up really helps to bend the plywood around the corner and hold it reasonably in place, to glue it into place.

Speaking of adhesive..........

Here's a couple of pics of yesterday's work. I decided to add another layer of plywood to the roof.

I am using 1/8" ply as it bends much better than the 1/4" thick stuff.

Also, I am using the Great Stuff Pro adhesive to secure this layer to the layer beneath it. Talk about "sticky" stuff. Wow!

I managed to get some on my fingers, and didn't get it cleaned off right away, and later, could not remove it. It will be worn off in a couple more days. Lol.

Anyway, here is the beginning of putting the first piece in place.

Update tomorrow night, I think. Life got in the way today.

My wife's cousin is moving, and we spent some of the day helping.

I went to the local Home Depot today to pick up some plywood for the roof. The local Lowes did not have what I was looking for.

Home Depot's website gave me the location in the store of the plywood that I wanted, so finding it was easy.

When I got there, what was on the shelf was not what I was looking for. ... My mistake.

I looked up on their app what I wanted and realized I had read the website wrong, and the plywood that I wanted was about an hour away.

Ok. Well, I need it to proceed, so away we went, trailer in tow. 3 hours later, and near dark, we arrived back home with the plywood.

I unloaded it, and that was the end of today's work. I hope to get some of it glued in place tomorrow.

Another shot from the end. Not as well in focus as I would like, but you get the idea.

I can't say I was all that pleased with the result. I didn't try adding additional cuts, (yet).

It did allow the plywood to bend, and would have worked for the curve that I have in the roof.

I tried to bend it a little too far, and it broke, not surprisingly.

I may try adding extra kerf cuts, a little closer together, and see how far that can be bent.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get a picture before it breaks next time.

Here's a pic of a test I did on some of the 1/4" thick plywood that I have. I wanted to see how well it would bend by adding some kerf cuts in the plywood.

I used my portable circular saw and cut about 1/2 way through the thickness of the plywood, and about 1/2" apart.

I didn't measure these, it was just a rough estimate.

Wow, what a concept! Lol....

I can't imagine that would work well in an area with high winds. Oops!

Well, I did get some work done today, however, almost none of it was on the moho. ๐Ÿ˜ž

I did add a small piece to the rear of the roof this morning, to allow it time to cure. The other plywood I put up there did not quite reach from one side to the other.

Since the roof is curved, it's over 8' when following the curve.

As such, I applied 2 pieces, one on each side, which left a gap in the center of a few inches. That is the piece I put in there today.

You can see in the pic, right down the center. It will be covered up with another piece on top of it, glued down, so it's not an issue.

Unfortunately, that was it.

I need to add another layer on the roof, since the rest of the roof only has 1 layer of 1/4" thick plywood on the top of the roof rafters.

Another layer of 1/4" would be quicker, but adding 2 layers of 1/8" would be easier to bend around the curves.

Decisions, decisions.

Using Great Stuff Pro Construction Adhesive for gluing the plywood down.

I think I had mentioned a while back about a shop in Georgia, (I think), that replaces rv roofs, and they use this for their glue, so I figured it must be pretty decent.

I played around with it a while back, and it seems to work pretty well.

Moving on to the drivers side, after the passenger side has cured.

Clamps, batteries, water jugs, glue..... Lather, rinse, repeat.
