Started to look into some water damage in the kitchen of our 83 Pace Arrow. The more I looked, the more I found. I have some pics of the damage so far. Anyone interested in following a rebuild thread?

Back to our spread sheet to update it with the new purchase of insulation.

Former total was $5446.28 after the purchase of the plywood. We can add another $184.19, for 12 sheets of insulation, and our new grand total is now $5630.47.

That should be enough insulation to cover all the walls inside.

Next up was to use some of those pieces of cut plywood strips and some cut insulation and just temporarily set it into place along the back wall.

There are a couple of pieces of tape in the center holding things together, so I could take this picture. Nothing was glued in at this point.

Putting the insulation in this way, will remove almost, but not quite all, of the thermal barrier between the outside and inside.

Ok, for tonight's post.

As you saw in Thursday's post, I went to Lowes and bought some insulation, that is listed as .56" thick. That is supposed to be just about the same thickness as the plywood that I bought at Home Depot.

Here in this pic, the first thing I had to do was to remove the little "edge" off of the side of the insulation. The insulation was listed as shiplap edges, and I didn't need that.

So, I grabbed my trusty little utility knife, and inserted a new blade, and cut away.

WOW! Deconstructed plywood. That stuff is pretty valuable. Mix that with a bit of resin and you have a sheet of particle board. Come to think of it, I have some deconstructed cork out in the garage. Maybe we could mix them together and make some cork flooring.

I'll pass on the particle board, BUT, deconstructed cork is another game changer all together! Lol.

Of course, using too much resin will kill the weight savings of the cork. Lol.

By the way, for those who think that sawdust is worthless, it is good for mixing with clear glue, and can then be used to fill nail holes in wood that is the same color.

It makes for a nearly invisible nail hole filler!

I would have no way of knowing who the 200,000th viewer would be, but I do have a 1/2 bag of sawdust available, from cutting the strips of plywood from a few days ago.

This pile was about 14" in diameter, and the center about 4" high. Put it into a Home Depot plastic bag, which made it about 1/2 full.

Would that work? Lol.
