So now the technology and décor is about the only thing new class A's have over the same size, same look 1990's units. So with all the mechanics working rather than buy a new unit, updates are real popular. Wide screen TV's, fireplaces, new floors, replaced windows, and a reseal to fiberglass undercarriage, new graphics, LED lighting, can trick out the 1990 units to fool the best onlookers. Now let's discuss the cost and show these units. Then let's discuss the added value verses the cost done. I'm thinking a good do over is in the $10,000 US range. That is without expenses like tires, brakes, roofs, engine or transmission replacements. Tell me your thoughts and experiences. Class A's only please.

Here are picture of my upgrade on my 1990 Barth Regency. $1200 for sofa and 3 chairs upholstered in real leather and $200 for the laminate floor.

It would be feasible if in good mechanical shape with no delamination. If there is delamination or bad mechanical shape engine trans then it probably is not worth it. you can put a lot of money in one especially if you can't do most of the work your self. I am looking at a new roof and tires for mine and already have $16K tied up in it.

You are probably right in the ball park on the cost estimate for you remodel. I just restored a 1989 Class A Bounder. Did not do a lot inside other than clean, LED's, Flat screen TV's front and back. I want to restuff the sofa, that's next on my list. My main concern was to make it road worthy. I replace all the fuel pumps that meant dropping the fuel tank. Replaced: Power steering pump and hoses, muffler, shocks, air bags, tires, headlites, radiator recovery tank, battery isolater switchs, new batteries X 3, serviced the transmission, oil change for engine, rebuilt the carburator,New brakes in the front, overhauled the Onan generator at the tune or $650.00. After all that I have $12.67 left in my RV fund. Wow, that's a lot. Now I need to take it out and have fun.
