Hi I am new to the forum and to the world of big camper camping. I am sure there will be more questions to follow but here is my first really important 1. Thanks in advance for any help I am given.

I just bought a 34 1988 pace arrow motorhome. The problem is the parking brake does not always release. I know the power steering fluid is low and I will be topping it off. The brake light flickers on and off but pedal seems ok. I don't know if that is going to make it safe to drive home. I only need to go about 15 miles. I don't know if the systems are linked. There is no manual release lever I can see. I need to get it from where I bought it to my house not a far drive but I don't want to damage anything or cause an accident if the brake locks up. any help diagrams would be helpful. I am a mechanic but have not dealt with this type of braking systems before.

John deere ford chassis

Actually that would be a John Deere/Oshkosh/Freightliner chassis with Ford 460 and C6 tranny.
Freightliner purchased Oshkosh and can provide you with info and parts.
If the E brake is an assembly bolted on the end of the tranny, then you have a 4WD C6 case with a ZF ebrake assemby bolted on. You could just remove the clevis pin near the brake assembly, to make sure the E brake is released.
