We have an opportunity to get an 2004 Honda Pilot that is is perfect shape. The question is what is required to flat tow this year Honda?

Yup! Honda wanted to break into the SUV market and didn't have anything, so they bought and rebadged an Isuzu. Happens all the time.

My 04Pilot has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. According to my manual, flat towable. Procedures in the manual.

I am pretty sure 04s were approved for flat towing. I think 05 is when Honda dropped support. Need to read the manual. All you need is a baseplate, tow bar, lights and probably brakes.
I recommend Ready a Brute tow bar with built in braking. Demco baseplate.
The newer wireless light bars are pretty cool. Easy.
