Leaking intake manifold

Hello I have a 1988 gulfstream sunvista hi rise on a john deere chassis with a 460 ford motor. Over this past spring while on a trip I found the oil was leaking from the rear and front of the intake manifold. I have purchased all new gasket's and was going to repair while laid up for the winter. The question I have is CAN anti freeze get into the oil from the intake? The reason I ask is I just started the coach to charge battery's and it seemed to be smoking a little bit more then normal so I shut it down and checked the oil and found it milky. Could it be the head gasket? I did over heat the coach on the trip the radiator hose blow out I fixed it on the road topped it all off no anti freeze leak's just oil as stated .Made it back home and just been sitting sense. I am hoping it's just the intake and not the head's..... any help??

I don't know for sure, perhaps an expert mechanic will say something, but I vaguely recall that it's not good to let water sit over the winter in the engine's oil system. I think you're suppose to drain the rad, and the oil pan. R&R the filter. Add some oil (it can be used, but the cleaner the better). Run the engine a couple minutes to circulate, than drain it out again. Let it cool then add some fresh oil. Run a couple minutes.

I am hoping this weekend in between my children's sports activity's I can at lest do a compression test.I am still crossing my finger's that it's the intake and not the head but there's only one way to find out....jump in....

I wouldn't change the oil now. What's in there is still oily. When you do the tear down, you will undoubtedly spill something in the oil. You will need to change oil more than once to get all the contaminated oil removed.

Thanks for the reply rgatijnet1 and RLS7201 I don't think I will be able to tear down the motor any time soon with winter coming upon us. Do you think I should drain all the milky oil now so I don't do any damage too the bearing in the mean time. I'm thinking with the anti freeze mixed with the oil that's a bad combination. I am not planing on starting the motor any time before the repair's are done it's off for the winter battery's have been pulled already. Then when I do get a chance to do any work the oil will be clean.

Your 460 is a little different than most 88 460s. Ford introduced EFI in 88 for most of their 460s. Your engine is a carry over with a carburetor. Use an intake manifold gasket for a 87 with valley pan. The carbed 460s have an exhaust passage through the intake manifold. The EFI 460s does not.
The china wall gaskets are known for leaking oil on Ford V8. The intake gasket coolant passage is usually very durable and not known for leaking coolant into the oil. With the over heating issue, I would pull the heads when the intake manifold was removed.
A leak down test would be more effective than a compression test for finding a head gasket coolant leak.

You may need to run a compression test to get your answer. Sometimes an overheating engine can blow a head gasket.
