Hello all,

Reserecting an old thread here. I have a '90 Allegro 31' with a 454 TBI engine. I just failed smog as a gross polluter - oh yea!. At the smog shop the tech seemed to think my O2 sensor was bad. He had a real time analyzer that we used and it appeared the sensor was not generating the right voltage readings. Pretty cool tool, so I've been doing some looking around for something comparable and found this thread.

Can anyone tell me if there are configuration files for the tool shown above for my engine? I can't seem to find it on the net anywhere.

Thanks for any info. Oh, and this is my first post on this forum!

Regards,
Tom

I started with it about 4 years ago, and have watched it evolve into the product it is today. Previous versions, the real time aspect was very primitive. I don't have it on all the time, but there are times when its been good to have, like when my fuel pump lost power in the middle of an intersection. Injector pulsewidth slammed wide open, so it was obvious a fuel delivery problem, and not electronic. This is may dashboard.

I chose black, so it is not so blinding at night. I had asked Mark about putting in some hysteresis in the display, that way it would be easier to see O2 trends on the fly, as well as give one a poor mans dyno. If one is able to measure rate of change, it can calculate acceleration rate. Not sure what ever happened to that.

Wondered if you were familiar with TunerPro? That is what I used to tune the 502. It a great program, extremely versatile. Its kind of free, although if one uses it, one should send Mark some money, as he's put a ton of work into it.

As I recall, some of the tunings for the 454 have issues on the earlier ECMs, so you may have some room to work with. The stock timing curve is fairly linear. That means one can add timing to the bottom end which really helps throttle response.

hi yes its tbi 454.. to daves?ive just started using a program to read my roadmaster94 lt1 obd1 and then will be able too use as a scan/code reader, data collector, and then will be able too change fuel/timing curves/ect so once done with that ill save and get the file and try to read the arrows data.. no probs with her just passed emissions so low they were checking for leaks/too fool there readings...

If it is TBI it will have a port. Yes, we are surprised to see a '1990 with TBI, but no doubt, it you can see the TBI, then it has a port. DO you have info on how to hook your laptop to the port and view data?

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

I'm not certain your 1990 came with an OBD port.
