Ok need your all’s help again
Need to caulk this area. I have a bunch of Dicor lap sealant is that ok to use here?
I think I would rather use something clear though. Also what to use to clean prior to caulking.

Surprised to hear that of 2300, we use 2300 as a seam sealer on grain truck bodies, that stuff has to be chiseled off, that's why I wouldn't recommend it on exposed RV appliaction as it's hard to remove.

Do not use Geocell MHRV 2300, lasted less than a year before it started shrinking and cracking plus it's a ***** to remove.

Keep in mind, I live in one of the most extreme weather conditions on the planet, we need stuff that works from -45c to +45cm

Usually 227. 291 can be a real grunt to remove.

Forgot to mention geocel 2300 is another good product.

Uv silicone, attracts dirt and will almost always leak as it doesn't stick very well.

Looks like Sikaflex has a hundred different ones.
What one do you recommend #291?

I have experimented with several different types of caulk and recently gone back to using GE window and door silicone. Seems pretty easy to work with and looks good. I believe all manufacturers use silicone. What does everyone have against it?

I prefer a clear urethane caulk over anything with silicone in it. The tape does work well to keep a straight line as well as enable you to push it in to the joint for good adhesion.

Yep, blue tape it, then use the clear Proflex, smooth it out, and remove the tape.

We have a Tiffin they told me to use any high quality silicone I used clear I caulked similar seams last year so far so good.I cleaned with soap and water the wiped area with alchohol, also before caulking tape of seams with blue painters tape makes for a nice uniform job.

good luck Rick

Use ProFlex. You can smooth the bead with a soapy finger.
