Winterizing RV: protecting air conditioner/heat pump

I live in Minnesota and do not have an inside option for storing my Itasca Navion. Is it necessary to cover the air conditioner/heat pump to protect it from snow and ice? I'm also concerned about the effects of snow weight on the heat pump style air conditioner and other electronics, antenna, satellite dish.

You shouldn't have any problems just with stowing things normally (cranking down the antenna, etc.). If there's a whole lot of snow, it would not be a bad idea to remove some of the excess; but a foot or so won't hurt anything. You're more likely to break stuff by trying to dig around it than by leaving the weight of a little snow, in my estimation.
