Hello, My friends call me Big Mike, and I am getting ready to take the biggest adventure in my Life! Now I know everyone says that you should rent before your Buy, but that is not going to work for me. I have sold the farm! So I am going for it all of the way, and if I find out that I don't like it, I will never let my friends Know! I am going to Fake It Tell I Make It! Yes, I am talking about full time, no light weight stuff for me, I want the full nelson experience. I have been looking and researching for about 4 months, to the point most of my friends are walking the other way when I show up. I like Winnebago, and I understand that a gas Class A would be best fit for a green horn like me. But I am not sure what is the right size that I should buy that will be the best for full time living, and I want to buy used, and how old of an RV, and the most mileage I want stay under. Also, I am open to suggestions on other Models that will be best for someone like Me! Thanks in advance for all of your inputs.

Big Mike in Calif!

If you are going to live in it buy bigger than you think you need - most on here would tell you to buy your last motor home first. I wish I had headed that advise. 35-36 feet is ideal

Most on here will tout the brand name in their signiture block - its a chevy vs ford thing

be careful out there. not all MH's are built alike or for quality for that matters. I know a guy who bought a monaco which is high end I guess, but his was a pice of junk. he found out the hard way, he paid over 300K for it and it fell apart the fist night and since he bought in in Wyoming, they don't have buyers remorse so he is stuck with it. his wife told me all this, he would say a word about it, it is not not his style to let any one know he got the shaft. She said they had it at a dealers getting fixed and I see tonight he got it back. Just look before you leap like he did. Some people look for years before they find one they like and it grabs you and won't let go. I'ma firm believer in having a unit grab and if it doesn't you will never be happy with it. you must have a computer, you are on this site, so look up motor homes and look at floor plans and pictures. write down what you like and dislike, make a list of both and the name of the unit. do your home work before you get the shaft.
