TT documentation?

I'm getting close to taking the plunge in my purchase of a used Travel Trailer in Canada.
What documentation should I expect to receive along with a receipt for the purchase?
I know the VIN is important but is there an official, mainstream way of checking out the VIN information?
I've read of various independent agencies who do this checking for a fee but from what I understand so far, some of these services aren't entirely reliable, or value for money.

Kind regards,

Mike

Thanks, I'm just about to buy from a dealer in Alberta. The registration process sounds pretty easy and straight forward.

Regards,
Mike

No yearly inspection in Alberta and the registration fee is a one time thing, good for as long as you own the trailer.
Just take the bill of sale (with the VIN number on the bill of sale) to the registrar and have it registered.

in Ontario and other provinces you must get the registration card, same as a motor vehicle

the vin number must agree with the trailer vin number

you will need that to register it and get a license plate

some provinces do have an annual safety inspection as well, not in Ontario though
