Is anyone towing 2013 Dodge Challenger w/Std Trans

We are looking at a 2013 Challenger R/T 5.7l as a toy and to tow infrequently, both. The owners manual in the car says the car can be towed 4 down with std trans in neutral unlimited miles and a max of 65 mph. The Motorhome towing guide and FMCA towing guide both give the same info for the 12 13 14 model years. A month ago, the REMCO site gave the same information. We have made all the moves to purchase this car and now the info seems to be changing. Remco seems to list as trailer only now and some digital versions of the owners manual are suggesting the same thing. I searched here and IRV2 and found very little information. Does anyone know of anyone towing a Challenger behind a motorhome 4 down. Blue Ox makes the baseplate for those specific years only. Thanks so much for any help or suggestions you can offer. Have a great day. Happy Trails Bert.

Was that the one that hurt 4th gear? I talked to one guy, and they fixed it. It was the original purchaser and has never received any information from Dodge contrary to his owner manual the way he talked. We had already bought the car and the bracket based on the owners manual and motorhome and FMCA tow charts, which I assume have information supplied by Dodge. FMCA lists the R/T 6 speed only, not any other variations. It was my intention to tow it on short trips, not north to south for winter. I have been thinking more about it, and thought about stopping to start and idle in neutral for a few minutes every hour or so to circulate oil around the bearings, I stop pretty frequently anyway. That is one option to look at, also plan to change over to full synthetic and figure that wont hurt anything. Just looking ahead. We will see. Probably first trip wont be till July, so will see what happens. Thanks and have a great day. Happy Trails Bert

I looked at this in late 2013 (or was it '14?...getting old), and decided not to try. the only person I could find (on the challenger forum) had 2000ish miles on his Challenger before towing. On his first (dingy) trip, he wrecked one or more on the synchro's in the transmission. Warranty or no - it just wasn't worth the risk to me.
