Setting up 2015 Chevy Malibu for towing

We’re at the point of setting up our first 4-down dinghy, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu. I’m interested in how others have set up a 2014-2015 Malibu for towing.

After doing some research, my inclination is to go with a Roadmaster base plate and a ReadyBrute Elite tow bar/brake combination. I haven’t decided yet on lights or electrical.

I will appreciate any experience you can share with setting up this particular car. Any comparative advantages to other tow setups?

We’re looking for something simple to operate and reliable.

Thanks for your comments.

Yes, the User Manual says 4-down Recreational towing is fine. Neutral, ACC, pull 3 fuses. Nothing out of the ordinary, so far as I can tell.

The ReadyBrute Elite stays connected to the rear of the coach. I’ve also tentatively settled on the Towmate 22” wireless magnetic light bar.

I was hoping to hear of experiences of others who had towed this car and the setup they found useful.

I find it frustrating that I haven’t been able to find a basic guide to setting up a towed vehicle with the basic choices available for the various components and the relative advantages and disadvantages. Being so new to this, it is almost difficult to know what questions to ask.

Thanks!

I always preferred to use a tow bar that stays on the rear of the motorhome, I last used a blue ox aventa II. I "assume" you have checked the owner's manual for instructions and approval for towing your exact setup?
