Storing the Tow Bar

New to Dingy towing and Class A. I've installed a BlueOx towbar/baseplate to pull my Wrangler with. When not towing, do most leave the towbar in place (I've seen a cover you can buy) or do you remove it? If I have to remove it, that's more storage to account for...If I leave it, do I have to worry about it bouncing around and coming out of the "stored" position? Other considerations I haven't thought of yet?

I've got a TowMaster. It's never been off of the MH, probably never will be.

My Blue Ox Aventa tow bar folds up and stays on the coach when not in use. When I first started dingy towing I had a locking pin on it. It was made in China, I didn't trust it and used the pin that came with the tow bar ever since. I have driven the coach many times with the tow bar in the stowed position and never had any problems. I had the same tow bar for four years on a gas coach before my current coach.

Excellent question as I too have just gotten into towing. My thoughts are to leave it on there. For me, too heavy and cumbersome to deal with more than I have too. Looking for a lock to use on the pin that slides into the receiver hitch. Hate to have someone walk away with it.

One can always bungee the bar to the receiver hitch if you think it will come out of the stored position.

Mine came with a cover and I put it on upside down. Birds made a nest in it!
