I want to connect my tow to the motor home with a charge wire. Does it have to be , the reason is for a recently connected brake supplement system, but I never travel over 200 mile towing. Does it need connection or diode and fuse protection????

No diode, but fuse it at both ends as close to the respective batteries as possible.
