My wife and I recently bought a Wolf Pup 16BH. This was a bunk house model. This trailer was in like new shape and we bought it at a good price. We took off on a 4 week trip from Wisconsin to Mammouth Cave, Great Smoky Mtn NP, South Carolina (to see grandkids) back to the Blue Ridge Parkway where there was massive rain damage to the roads, Skyline Drive, Antietem Battlefield, Norfolk VA to see the USS Wisconsin, up to Acadia NP, goofed off in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, upstate NY, Niagara Falls (both sides), slowly returned to Wisconsin by way of Canada to Sault Ste Marie, the UP of Michigan, and returned to northern WI.
This trip was very educational in that we had traveled in a Toyota mini-motorhome for the last 8 years. Things that we learned-a modern Ford F150 with an ecoboost engine and working air conditioning was much nicer than a 30 year old motorhome with NO a/c, the trailer was nice to drop and sight see with easy parking. the most important thing we learned was that THIS WAS NOT THE RIGHT TRAILER FOR US! The caps are there for emphisis. As soon as we got home, we posted the trailer on c-list and sold it on the first day and we made a $1000 profit. We also sold our Toyota motorhome because I am never going cross country in it again. We sold that and also turned a $1000 profit and we used it for 8 years and put over 50,000 miles on it.
With the education that we got on this trip, we knew what we wanted for our new trailer and after searching the RV dealers within 150 miles for 3 days we found what we wanted (just 7 miles from home.)
We did not want a huge trailer so we got a 17' Viking with a permenant qween size bed, dinette that becomes a double bed, good storage, lots of windows with good ventilation, and best of all-THE WIFE LOVES IT. When she walked into it for the first time, she sat down and stated "This is a trailer that we are going to use for a long time." She was impressed that I listened to everything that she wanted in our new trailer. I NAILED IT. She was impressed that I listened. Bob got a big kiss for that.
I will be around for a long time now, I was on the ToyotaRv forum for 8 years. It will be nice to visit with you. If anyone wants hints about what to see in Wisconsin, shoot me a PM and we can get togetther on the telephone. I know, I am a dinosaur, i prefer to actually TALK topeople.
