Qty needed (2) of each. Replacement of capacitors and rectifiers is a quantum leap in durability for the weakest parts in the Megawatt. These parts are a snap to change out. Upgrade from 60 amp to 160 amps capacity and to 150 volts PIV. These rectifiers run much cooler than the originals.

The Panasonic ESR capacitors replace the # 1 Megawatt circuit failure component. Like the rectifiers above these capacitors run cooler. I have tortured them and they did not fail.

This is a -can do- upgrade for anyone who can solder.

I was invited to the very remote rancho of Juan and Flaca for dinner. Goat tacos, goat cheese, homemade tortillas.

Flaca fairly danced with glee. "With the old luz (light) I could have light for maybe two hours at night in the kitchen, turn it off, go into la sala (living room turn that light on for perhaps an hour, then baรฑar (shower) then a bit of light for the recamarera (bedroom)"

"With the new lights (5050 48 smd) I can have the kitchen light on for (many) hours while Juan is having his cerveza with Chaparro in the sala, and Jorge is taking his bath"

All because changing the 50 watt 12 volt incandescent light bulbs for 2 watt "placas" plates (emitters) allowed the group 27 ciclando profundo (LTH deep cycle battery) to not be overstressed. The couple has a 120 watts of solar panels laid flat on the roof. Juan purchased a 10-watt LED floodlight and has it pointed at the goat pen. "I can now milk after dark without lighting the lampara de petroleo (kersosene lantern)".

So how does a person react to seeming bliss at very fundamental levels of quality of life? it hits me straight in the ticker. It's a little if any profit venture. Because I know the value that hard-working people place on stuff that really makes a difference.

I'm selfish. This is the Mexico I grew up with in the fifties and sixties. This is the Mexico I intend to stick with. They endure hardship an deprivation with a grimace and a smile. There are many Mexico's. The stuff that causes headlines north of the border is as alien to these campesinos as they are to me and you. But when a small CD player is cranked up and a reedy wail of a ranchero song causes the family to sing as a group, well, it's hard to put into words.

If I can salvage stuff I will. I gripe about a pension that cannot afford the least expensive apartment north of the border. Compared to these decent, honest folks, I have everything...

So yeah, if you have spare stuff working or not I'll either repair it and give it away, or cannibalize it. Really old fashioned (heavy) battery chargers are a real plus. I can resurrect them as long as they aren't high frequency Smart chargers. Broken inverters are less desirable except if they are heavy. Unfixable I can strip out the heatsinks. Juan is getting a DC to DC 36 volt Sharp 30 watt chip that can light up his entire yard (mounted on a heatsink with salvaged chrome visor) like daylight. No more worries about coyotes or mountain lions. Panchito the chihuahua is the burglar alarm. Juan is placing the switch next to his bed.

I's all a matter of perspective I guess.

I have blocked all posts from MEXICOWANDERER as I can't understand any of his posts. Have a great day.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

I have studied a bunch of foreign languages. For this forum, I chose the immersion method. I read the forum for about a YEAR before some of the posts started to make sense to me. A few clear phrases amongst the gibberish.

Some threads are still completely over my head. Some other threads now consist entirely of me asking extremely basic questions and people patiently answering ๐Ÿ˜‰

I guess I did the same with molecular biology, now that you mention it. But that was long ago and I have not kept up.

Mex, we had a place like that in my hometown but it closed. Are you offering? Mex's home for unwanted gizmos?

Ok!
Now I have ordered the four (4) and can only use two (2)!
What do I do with the other two?
Mex, you need extra?
Heck, at the speed I'm going on this project, I may even have four (4) extra.

Please do not pollute. Chew and spit consumerism makes current affairs (popular environmental "Chanting") pale in comparison.

If a person was "serious" about what they publicly spout off about they would send inoperative electronics to someplace where they could be rebuilt then given as meaningful gifts to poor people whose lives can be positively influenced by them. in short, an inverter in need of a few nickel and dime FET transistors could make a campesino's life a lot easier. A campesino is a Mexican rural poor person.

I stumbled across a book on amino acid recombination for RNA analysis laying on the table in the Sebastopol CA. public library. For the life of me, I did not grab the book, run to the librarian and complain I did not understand the contents. I somehow withheld criticism and derisive comments about the book and about the author.

Question, Can you make this part of the Megawatt upgrade project, when and if that is released?
And you haven't released (published) it yet, have you?
or where can I buy the book?

I too am waiting for the upgrade project pics and instructions. Have all the parts.
The pot is getting very hard to adjust now, wearing out....

I didn't know what a Megawatt was and I wouldn't know what to do with a capacitor or rectifier. I have a nearly brand new 3000W inverter and it has some burned somethings (MOSFET transisters?) that would get it running again. Instead I suspect it's going in the trash.

Home Skillet, thank you so much for clarifying!

In my new-generation MW, though, the slots are fully bovoid. It's one of the recent improvements.

How many of the Panasonic Capacitors is needed per megawatt?
Do I need to buy 2 sets of 4 capacitors or use 2 of the 4 capacitors that are included in the Ebay auction?

not to be facetious
but BILL
i think you know what filter capacitors
and rectifiers are

Am I wrong ?

do you not know what they are, are you unable to look at eBay picture
and understand the Idea at these are higher quality replacement parts
that will extend the life of a megaWatt power supply used as an adjustable battery charger
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !
