Hi all,

Yes, it is Harbor Freight--but the price is about the same as Honda or Yamaha 2800 watt units!

I have yet to see a ranger at a NP or anywhere else going around with a decibel meter.

67 decibels would tend to piss off quite a lot of folks in a campground. The scale is not linear.

Try MANGANESE SQUARE CHAIN and an AMERICAN high Security padlock. These chains eat 36" Rigid boltcutters for lunch and will snap a cutting disc to shreds. Heat it white hot then press the oxygen and it laughs.

The cost of manganese square chain is a knee knocker and a high security padlock is around 50 dollars.

My genshed has that minesweeper K monel door and combing so they're not getting in that way. The batteries have to be removed before the Kubota would exit. I used 6 sack cement formula so it's like chopping through basalt.

Yes, the heavier the better for theft deterrent. I had the misfortune of having two 2000's stolen. Cut through my lock like butter.

The Honda EU7000is is 263 lbs, for comparison's sake...and $4600 or so to buy.

67db is not quiet. I have a cheap Champion 3500w/4000w open frame contractor-style generator that is slightly quieter and it is NOT appropriate for campground usage.
For home power, desert or auto racing, this generator is great.

Hi 2oldman,

After 100 lbs--it doesn't matter if it is 500. I'm not going to be picking it up. After the loss (by theft) of my Yamaha, I had a "cage" built for it. It could still be taken--but it would take a bit of time.
