Today I finally winterized my water system today. It was my fist time doing it. Other years, I had trailer shops do it.
I had some fun.
First, I installed a Tee to allow me to connect the antifreeze to the pump. I use antifreeze as it is best for up here.
That went well, after I waited till the fresh water tank drained.
I had some fun getting the antifreeze in the cold water lines, but that went well.
The hot water side was a different challenge. It seemed to take forever, until I realized that I didn't isolate the hot water tank. Finally I did that.
Then came the anode. You think I have the right socket? Nope! So, I went to the local trailer shop and asked them what size it was. The tech argued that it was a 7/8. I knew it wasn't. I knew it was over 24mm/1 inch. He went back in the shop, got an old anode and then laughed when he realized that it was a 1 1/16. We laughed, I got the proper socket, and now my trailer is winterized.
So, as long as my water system isn't destroyed this winter, I will say it was a successful learning experience.
