Dw and I are seasonal campers, and we want to add a screen room to the awning. The lippert Solara awnings cant be anchored down and wont accept screen rooms. The awning also has a arm you pull down to tip one side of the awning so rain runs off easer. The manual clearly states NOT to push up on that arm as it can bend and damage the awning. With this arm lowered the awning will not retract. the only way to retract the awning is to push up on that arm and the DW holds the switch in. Also every time theres a slight threat of any wind, I have to retract the awning. My old campers awning was anchored to the ground, and stayed up all summer.
Now, I'm not saying all power awnings are like this. If you are weekenders, I could see how usefull a power awning would be.
Just not for us....
