Bike rack extension

Am looking at a way to haul bicycles without connecting to the rear bumper. Come across "dual hitch extension receiver" on Amazon. Anyone have any experience with this item. I am concerned that the 6" of extra length may cause a balance problem as well as strength to haul a GVW of 3400 pounds. The GTW is rated at 4000 lbs limit.

3,400 lb trailer is nothing. What hitch do you have a class 2? Class 3 or above you are fine. 6 inch extension is nothing, it will cause little to no problems (little being maybe extra rattling sounds). As long at the bike fits on this gadget with no contact in sharp turns then u are fine. I have friend that uses one.

Truck Camper people often have 18 inch extension with heavier-than-3400lb trailers with no issues.

Check your local Uhaul for the same part as they are often cheaper than online.

If you buy the HF extension you may need to remove the pedals which isnโ€™t difficult and makes the potential thief less interested.

Can you post a link to the product so we know exactly what you are talking about?

I suppose you could weld something to the frame but why not mount over batteries and propane tanks on tongue?
