Black tank question

Can anyone tell me which manufactures are dumping shower water into black tank. I know some are doing this but it seems to be a big secret. I am getting a new tt in the 24 ft range and would like to avoid this set up.

Bumpyroad I think I see what your saying I am looking at over all quality also but I don't see where my issue is a small area, in fact it is of great concern to me. I have dug as deep as I can into the over all construction of these units and will most likely go with the Ascend because of the construction of the outer walls, roof and floor being compositek covered with fiberglass. That being said if the shower dumps into the black I won't. Thanks for the info.

Bigbird65, which tt do you have?

I talked to someone in service in the rv dealer ship I bought my current from and he said they just don't make them that way. Well he must not have worked there long because the one I have came from there and they sell alot of that model. It is hard for me to belive that knowone else has brought this to their attention. I don't understand why this is a big secret or why knowone belives me. Again my Conquest 19BHC is plumbed with the shower going into the black. Just for kicks I looked at a AmeriLite 19BHC and the sales and service there also tell me it is not plumbed that way. They lied or keep it a secret so they can sell it, or didn't know and don't want to know. It is the same thing as conquest. So I am looking for consumers that have products that are plumbed WRONG. Also know one wants to run some water thru.

Just looked at my manual and it says the shower drains to the Gray tank.

absolutely nothing to do with the tanks. has to do with overall quality. I would not own another rubber roofed RV. and do you know which is Azdel siding and which is standard fiberglass?
you seem to be totally focusing on one small area, instead of overall quality.

I would not be surprised if almost all manufacturers might be draining gray water from some source other than the shower into the black tank, on one model or another, but don't know of any doing it as a general practice. Draining the shower into the black tank would be quite unusual.

For any manufacturer, you have to check for this practice model by model.

it seems to me that you are looking at both ends of a wide quality spectrum.

Help me understand that I looked at the Ascend today and liked it. Looked at mini lites lasst week looked to be about the same quality, pretty good difference in the price so what am I misssing? Gona Run some water thru the Ascend to be sure but service says there is no need.

what does each one use as materials for the walls and roof?

I am lost what would the walls have to do with the tanks the mini Lite is fiberglass walls and rubber roof the Ascend is fiberglass walls and roof.

I have a '71 TT and have a single tank. It may be that some of the newer, smaller trailers are provisioned the same. I do have valves that separate the shower and sink water from the black tank so that the waste water from those can be dumped through a garden hose outlet into a tote.

Pouring water down the shower drain and having the grey water drain open should show how the shower is plumbed. I don't think there are many trailers that are plumbed like your present trailer. There is little need to do so.

I could tell you that but it probably would be a lie.

Like they told you above: I'd do the bucket full of water in the shower test.

AS the black tank being filled from the shower appears to be so remote, I think the way you should approach this is to find a unit that you like/floor plan/construction/price/etc. and then confirm that it is not plumbed wrong. to make a list of every model of every manufacturer would be impossible in the first place.
