New TT with minor roof damage

Along with damaging my awning (minor) while contacting a metal sign, I have discovered several small holes in the rubber roof close to the awning attachment.
What material should I use to limit the damage?

Clean the area around the roof damage and apply Eternabond tape and forget it.

Eternabond tape or sealant will probably be your best bet for the roof.
