I have my trailer at camp world and they say they cannot find a converter of for my 1976 Palomino. They are working to give me the part information, but I would like to know if anyone can tell me of a place on the Internet that I can contact for this type of part. Thanks

Progressive Dynamics has a much better reputation Than WFCO (country of origin China) Best Converter also has PD so give them a call.
We have the PD 4045

The also make a replacement unit

My 2008 model Starcraft 14rt originally came with the ELIXIR 30AMP model single mode converter with only one 120VAC circuit breaker and four 12VDC fuse positions.

I changed mine out with the WF 8900 series power distribution panel and a WF8945 converter/charger unit which was suppose to be a three mode smart charger but I could never get it to go into smart mode charging. I later on added a PD9260C converter/charger unit only in a different location closer to the battery bank. I left the WF8945 converter unit in place and just flip the circuit breaker to turn on either the WF8945 or the PD9260C unit. Have a back-up now...

The WF8900 series power distribution chassis fit just fine where the older ELIXIR chassis was located with just a few mods needed to make the mounting hole a little larger. It took around three hours to re-wire all of the AC and DC power cables in place as they were already relocated to this same area. I did have to rewire a couple of the 12VDC cables as they were too short. The new power distribution panel gave me more 120VAC and 12VDC circuits with their separate circuit breakers and fuses which was a big plus. I also got rid a hugh rats nest of wiring behind my original ELIXIR install.

The most common replacement is the WFCO brand small converters like mentioned. You will need dimensions of the available space and then research which model fits.

+1 for bestconverter.com you are a candidate for a plain deck mount converter that will supply the 12v power you need.

They probably can't find your converter because it is almost 40 years old and is not longer made, and technologies have changed for DC power supplies, using solid state electronics for reduction in size, weight, cost.

You (or the RV dealer) should be able to find a modern replacement of appropriate size, although some fabrication might be needed to install it in the same place. It might even be reasonable to replace the old power distribution box with a modern unit, if that was integrated with the old converter.

Online supplier, I would go to Best, or PPL Motorhomes. But most likely, I would discuss the need with the head of service and parts at my local RV dealer, and let them find a replacement through their wholesalers.

I would strongly suggest a new, recent model converter rather than trying to find anything like the original equipment.

Best Converter would be an excellent source for a new one. They have great pre- and post-sales support so don't be afraid to use the "Ask Randy" button anything.

My suggestion would be a WFCO model WF-8715 (15 amps) or WF-8725 (25 amps) for $100.

I replaced an Elixir 12 with a WF-8715 and really liked the upgrade to a three-stage smart charger.

Of course, more capacity for circuits and charging can be found in the WF-8935 but you're into $150 at that point.
