The slide on my trailer sporadically works. I've checked the switch, it's good and I have power at the motor. It seems to go in and out fine manually.

if you can do it safely I would measure the voltage across the motor when someone else presses the switch. A bad or corroded connection can have resistance and not allow the motor to run at full power.
