starting problems on ford 460.

Have a 1997 Fleetwood bounder with a ford 460 engine and has been sitting for 3 years and we charged up the battery to move it and the battery was dead. So went to replace it with a bigger battery for more cranking power and. When you hit the discount switch to on you should hear a clicking noise when you do. that. the lights come on the dash . but the engine is not trying to start.

Don't know if is the case or not, but here is what I found on a dump truck I have with a 460. If you follow the positive cable from the battery it goes to a ceramic block on the firewall and not directly to the starter. On mine the connection was corroded at that block. A good cleaning and tightening did the trick.
