Hope to get to Mobile or even Biloxi, MS tomorrow. I was stationed in Biloxi at Kessler AFB 51 years ago.

We'll be heading west from there... california in a couple of months... home in August
We hope to see some of you over the next 5 months.

Inquirees have made me think a bit...

and to share 2012 SPRING LOOP

the general plan... miss the tornados.... be home before the first of June

We are heading south thru Jimmy Carter country to Tallassee... and he coast... getting away from the middle America E/W interstates and the tornado alleys.

We'll be heading west and then down toward Brownsville... then follow the border to NM... North as far as rocky Mtn NP and then head east thru Nashville toward the end of May... we have never been inside the State Capital.

I'll be posting some as we go...

PS... the camperport did great in the storms, no damage that I can see... best $3500 I spent last year. I highly recommend it.

I must apologize... I should find time to post to our trip report.

There have been good reasons... the biggie is always the time that it takes to prepare the pictures.

We came home after 7 weeks of what we planned to be a 14 week trip.

1) Janet injured her shoulder on the 3rd day out... but toughed it out. We just found out that she'd torn scar tissue around her rotator cuff... where she'd already had two surgeries.

2) She was having trouble seeing and taking pictures was very hard for her... she had cataracks get bad only 6 months after her last exam. She had surgery in her left eye two weeks ago... a multifocal lens was put in to to replace the clouded one... she won't need glasses after the right one is done in a couple of weeks. I am busy doing the household stuff and putting more drops in her eyes than you'd believe. We think that she may end up moonlighting as a sniper.

I have managed to upgrade our camper... 1081 nights in the last 11 years has worn out the dinette cuchions, the bed mattress, the trucks springs, and we still had some 1141 incandesent bulbs to up grade, etc

I've actually made an inroad on these things. More on them later.
.

We hope things stabilize soon... the pains would be over... and so that the trip report will be done... and we can plan on a fall trip.

After several projects to get thge camper ready we finally got on the road onMarch 20th.

I had a couple of leaves put in the rear springs on the truck... the right side had a slight sag after 11 years carrying the TC 24/7

And... those dam* slide out gears had to be replaced.

Here we go!!!!

Nice to see you two made it out on the road again. Too bad you had to head home early. Hopefully there'll be an "easy" fix for Janet's shoulder.

We have looked forward to seeing you both... we got very close as you'll see in the trip report. We'd sure hoped to stop by.

We've never been to the Tennessee State Capital either... Oh! well, another time.

We are home... it was a short trip... only 49 nights

.... making us have 1081 total nights in this camper

I just figured out today as I was driving the last 131 miles to get home.... that 1095 nights would equal 3 years...

Meaning... we need 14 more nights - You could do that in your driveway, LOL!

this also means that we have spent more than 26% of the last 11 years traveling in this truck camper.

The reason we cut yhe trip short... Janet injured her shoulder again... the third time on the same shoulder... she has an appointment with the surgeon Monday morning - Sure would be curious what's causing this pain. Hope they figure it out soon.

I promise... pictures soon... and I think some of you will enjoy the report. - Looking forward to it! You're retired Chet, don't make us wait too long!

No driveway for us after all of these nights.... It's far more fun to be traveling and exploring... we are hoping to get out in the fall... Maybe Savanah, GA after the hot season.

We cut our trip alot shorter than expected... we didn't get to NM and AZ as hoped. We had another 7 weeks planned.

This is her third problem with the same shoulder.

Janets pain has been manageable until the last 2 weeks... then we headed home... we phoned our Bone Doctor... he returns to his office Monday... he sent word for Janet to be there early... he's making room for her on his schedule.

Today is Friday the 25th of April

We returned to Brownsville from South Padre Island to wash the salt and sand off the camper and truck

While on South Padre Island we found a fantastic boondocking site... we could see a Class C that was boondocking somewhat close to us and off in the distance on the sound side we could see a 5th wheel doing the same. Neither of them seemed to have power... no lights at night

We watched TV at night... kept the lights burning to read...

It was really black outside... no moon.

I wrote this a week ago... I couldn't get the forum to let me post...

We are still in Brownsville, TX area...the weather is beautiful.

We've been a little lazy.... instead of doing laundry we have just been buying what ever clothing we need...just lighter weight... summer versions.

...today it caught up with us... we did the Laundry mat for several hours then drove around half of Brownsville... along the Border fence... it's not bad looking.

Tomorrow we plan on heading to Port Isabel and Padre Island again.
Heat... and HUMIDITY will have us suffling north again before too long
I think we'll go north by a different route.
